I was shopping at the Hospice Flea Market this week when someone comes up behind me and says, "Is your name Sue?" I turned around and immediately recognized Clinton McVey - and it has been more years than I remember since I last saw him. We chatted for a while - trying to catch up with how many kids and grandkids we had: then on to where other family members are, who have you seen, etc.
We decided it is time to play a McVey Family Gathering....... otherwise known as a "reunion" and reunions are lots of work; but family is worth every bit of the energy that is requires to pull this together. We aren't spring chickens anymore, so we talked about how we might "keep it simple" like meeting in a restaurant. Now that's doable. A turn-key job - that's what I love!!!
My family and my sister Kay's family all helped to refurbish the old homeplace of my grandmother, Asenath McVey about two summers ago. If we did this in warm weather, they we could have folks take a trip there also for a memory lane??? Maybe.....
Will put out some feelers with the few folks I still know how to contact and see how much interest we have. In the meantime, will begin scanning and uploading some wonderful old pictures.
